GO!wind
GOwind! was launched on 06 April 2011. More than 10 research groups from Ghent University Association decided to consolidate their efforts and expertise in the field of wind research. The result was GOwind!, Ghent Ostend Wind Research Institute.
Clustering all activities into GOwind! allows to create a one-stop shop for industrial partners to all wind research activities at Ghent University Association. Today GOwind! is embedded into SET and can be contacted via Jeroen De Maeyer
Below our research activities and the members of GOwind! are described in more detail by means of two presentations. The first is a pitch presentation, the other is a full and extended version.
In Ostend on the Greenbridge science park, we are currently already monitoring 4 small wind turbines ( more information can be found here). In the spring of 2012 a full world class real-life lab will be installed, the SWTFieldLab. The laboratory will be open to both research teams as well as industry willing to test new concepts, new prototypes, ... of small and medium wind turbines. For the monitoring and storing of the data the Argus technology is used.
