Press release: Ecobuilding in Ostend
06/04/2011
Lately, Ostend has been positioning itself as a centre of green energy: just think of the various plants with alternative energy and the offshore industry around the wind parks.
Now companies can also get to know these green Ostend projects through a new teambuilding formula.
First on the program is a visit to Greenbridge, the science park and innovation centre for green top technology in Ostend. During this visit you can discover which surprising applications will soon be part of your private and professional life, and we will assess your knowledge of green energy.
After a healthy lunch with local seafood it is time for some action: the newest generation of economical offshore RIB boats will take you in no time to one of the biggest ecological construction sites in the world: the construction of the wind parks on the offshore Thornton- and Blighbank.
Once safe and sound ashore, our guests can test the advantages of electrical, hybrid, hydrogen and natural gas cars. Behind the wheel of the Toyota Auris Hybrid, they will explore the region of Ostend. Both experts as laymen will enjoy this beautiful journey through the polders.
This teambuilding can easily be combined with seminars, incentives or product launches by the sea. Above all, this formula is kept completely CO2-neutral: the (green) transfer from and to the coast is allocated in a fund for the afforestation of new woods.
The initiators of this project are Steve Roose from the event office Event Mosaic, Bart Lux from the offshore RIB-boat trips Wavefun.be and Greet van Eetvelde (Greenbridge/Power-Line, UGent). In the press showing we went more deeply into the social context and the practical organization of this ‘ecobuilding’ for groups.
