Power-Link 2 | Energy knowledge platform
Power-Link is a knowledge platform for sustainable and renewable energy, a joint initiative of the Port of Ostend and Ghent University, located at the Greenbridge cleantech science park in the outer port of Ostend.
As a knowledge partner, Power-Link and its partnering university colleges aim at maturing into a West Flemish scientific platform with LED-functioning (www.lednetwerk.be), and encourages rational and/or reductive energy consumption.
As a network partner, Power-Link interacts with the innovative and creative move of the new production and consumption energy market and, moreover, creates a research platform with an own clean tech environment, i.e. the Greenbridge science park.
As a communication partner, Power-Link npo was founded: it offers a professional cleantech portal site and thus stimulates the functioning of the knowledge platform.
As an energy knowledge platform, Power-Link has been accepted by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), a financial support instrument that aims at improving the convergence, enlarging the economic competitiveness, creating employment and reinforcing the sustainable internal cohesion in European regions.
The profiling of West Flanders as an energy province with a great potential for green and new energy technologies is a welcoming working environment for Power-Link. Cooperating with various players in the field of sustainable and renewable energy, concerning both knowledge as management and companies, is a challenging and future oriented approach.
Therefore, Power-Link aims at fulfilling its role as a driving force of regional energy employment.
