MIE Energie | Educational and stimulating group game for girls on sustainable energy
MIE Energie is an educational and stimulating group game that contributes to gain a clear insight in the concepts of energy, rational energy use, sustainable energy sources, etc. on a multi-disciplinary way, and thus brings youth and science closer together. The game is particularly oriented towards girls from 10 to 15 years old but obviously, also male peers can join the game. Through an accessible theme, MIE Energie wants to stimulate this target group in order to raise their interest in science and technique.
With their participation to the project, girls learn that science isn’t dull, that is isn’t routine nor inward-looking. On the contrary, they will realize that science is creative and challenging and that teamwork is an important feature in it. Thát are the characteristics that girls in particular find appealing.
The players learn to organize, interact, confront, socialize, analyze, anticipate and so much more. Moreover, they develop numerous research competences: they make themselves familiar with a research problem, they learn to process it, confer in team, consider the outcome and adjust if necessary.
Furthermore, a good understanding, a simple translation of the energy theme into the own environment and the social embedding of the group game are objectives that really fit into the final attainment level of teenagers. In other words: MIE Energie is an educational game.
