The Energy Box | Energising tomorrow
The Energy Box (TEB) is a demonstrator of new technologies in the field of sustainable energy, located on Greenbridge, the science park of Ghent University in the inner port of Ostend.
TEB, also known as ‘house of renewable energy’ demonstrates technologies for both private as professional use, with a view to energy production and energy efficiency.
Start new construction of The Energy Box
The Energy Box will be built with the most innovative technologies. The new wing also accommodates new partners for sponsoring. If you are interested, please contact info [at] greenbridge [dot] be.
The Energy Box is oriented specifically to SME’s e.g. start-ups and spin-offs, with marketable technologies, but that haven’t found their way to the market yet. A professional team of consultants will guide and counsel the companies in the commercialisation of their technologies, during a period of six months up to a year. T2B, the economic corporation of the consultancy team, offers the TEB technologies support in the technological, financial and juridical field, as well as in the area of industrial marketing and HR.
End 2010, the construction of the new demonstration hall will start, itself a paragon of energy sustainability. The hall will demonstrate innovative and creative cleantech products and will propagate them to potential interested people. This purpose turns The Energy Box into a platform of open innovation and provides a substantial contribution to the economic value chain and the social tissue in Flanders.
The concept of The Energy Box fits perfectly into the vision and mission of Greenbridge. Het science park is directed towards starting and growing companies with a focus on new energy technologies. Next to The Energy Box, Greenbridge has an incubation and innovation centre at its disposal, that provides excellent support in all the challenges young companies, particularly high-tech start-ups, have to face.
The functioning of TEB is financed by ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), the Flemish Government (Vlaanderen in Actie and Agentschap Ondernemen) and the Province of West-Flanders (Actie voor Starters).
