ARGUS | A cost-effective, scalable and multi-parameter monitoring platform for the management of distributed renewable energy production
Power-Link, the knowledge platform of Ghent University, as part of the science park Greenbridge that demonstrates among other things renewable energy technologies, has designed an electronic tool capable of measuring, monitoring and visualizing the energy production of various renewable energy technologies and the meteorological circumstances. The tool consists on the one hand of measuring and communication infrastructure to collect data, on the other hand of a webplatform to monitor the measured data with remote access.
Various Flemish and international companies already showed their interest for this conceptual system and ask to have the technology to their disposal, at least when the price is acceptable, the system robust and when it’s easily expandable according to their needs.
This project aims exactly at this further development to meet the above expectations. Eventually in a later phase this may result in a commercial product, in the form of a ‘Platform as a Service’ concept, built and expandable according to the wishes and needs of the interested company.
